Cold Comfort For NJ Principal Saturday, December 09, 2006 |
Scott Davies, principal of Harrington Park Elementary in New Jersey, spent Thursday night on the roof of his school as part of a bargain he made with his students. He challenged them to read 10,000 books, and if they did it before the end of the school year, he would let them choose their own reward. The student's didn't need the whole year, just a semester. They chose to shave the school logo into his hair and have him camp on the roof for a night, which he did, although temperatures were in the low 20s.
Way to go, Principal Davies, and congratulations to the Harrington Park students in reaching their goal. Now, what would he have to do to get you to read 20,000? :)
